Valentine’s Gifts for New or Expecting Parents.

Valentine’s Day might have been a day you enjoyed as a couple before the sleepless night, or the stress of family life came along. A romantic dinner out, or maybe a little weekend break to celebrate the love for each other. I believe love should be celebrated every day, not just one day a year, but I surely remember some lovely dates before being a mum.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day when you are expecting a new baby or when you have a new family just looks a little different. The whole family is now your big love, and you should all celebrate it together.

Photography makes perfect Valentine’s gifts for expecting parents or new parents, as it’s a lasting reminder of your love. So here is some way I could help you to mark Valentine’s Day 2023!

Maternity Photoshoot | Valentine’s Gifts for Expecting Parents

If you are expecting a baby this year, a maternity shoot marks one of the most special and precious times in your life. Your family is changing, perhaps it’s your last few months or weeks as a couple before welcoming your baby. Or maybe your family is growing again.

Maternity shoots can include your partner or children or can just be all about you and your bump. Babies are made with love, so a maternity session makes the perfect choice for Valentine’s gift. You’ll need to be anywhere between 28 and 34 weeks pregnant for the best results though, so if you’re not quite there yet, you might consider a couple shoot instead. Or simply book it as a gift and use it when the right time comes. You can find all the information about my London maternity photoshoot on the website.

Book your maternity session before the 14th of February, and receive a complimentary enlargement print of your favourite image!

Couple Shoot

It’s not often you get the luxury of time in front of the camera together, right? All too often, we snatch quick selfies and only rarely do we like the results! I’m experienced in posing and lighting to create flattering portraits that you will love. I offer a range of product options, so whether you’re someone who loves a desk print to remind you of loved ones, or you’re someone who prefers to wow visitors to your home with a large piece of wall art, I have something for you.

Newborn Shoot | Valentine’s Gifts for New Parents

If it’s too late for a maternity shoot, as your baby is due to arrive soon, then a newborn shoot is surely a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Your new baby is the proof of your love in your arms. Being your first baby, you will have a calming and relaxing time in my studio with a hot cup of tea in your hands. You will have a little break, and you can have a little nap too. I will take some gorgeous portraits of your baby and then the most precious ones – portraits of you and your baby.

This is the beginning of your story as a family, and one day they will be a priceless memory.

Family Shoot

If the days of being just the two of you are long gone, then you might want to opt for a family session instead. Beautiful portraits of your family are lasting and priceless. What an amazing Valentine’s gift they make. Your family is the outward sign of your love for each other – and I’m not just talking about you and your partner. Family portraits also capture the love that siblings have for each other – even if it’s fleeting!

Natural and candid family portrait.

Portraits are such a thoughtful gift for Valentine’s Day, whichever session you choose.

They’ll still be giving you joy long after the roses have wilted and the chocolates are eaten.

They are priceless reminders of your love for each other and for your family. Capturing these moments is something no one ever regrets.

We live in a world where everything is fast, filtered, automated.

Where perfection is polished and every flaw can be edited away in just a click.

But what happens when we pause?

When we slow down…

When we really look?

Not just at the photos, but at ourselves.

This is where the true power of photography lives—not in capturing a perfect image, but in creating space for reflection, for presence, for seeing yourself as you really are.

No filters. No rush. No expectations.

Just you.

In the stillness, the truth becomes louder.

In the quiet, we see what was always there.

Because the answers we’re looking for, the confidence, the worthiness, the values, they’ve been inside us all along.

This is the beginning of Reflections Beyond the Frame. A space for honest conversations. For slowing down. For seeing yourself again.

When was the last time you truly paused to listen to yourself?

Did you know your newborn might cry, but without actual tear, for their first few weeks?

Even though they definitely make their voices heard (we know those cries well!), their tear ducts are still developing, so you might notice a lot of crying, but no real tears.

It’s completely normal and just another fascinating part of their early days.

Did you already know this? Or do you have another favourite newborn fact? Share it below, I’d love to hear it!

As a small business owner, we’re told to show up, to be visible, to build a personal brand.

As small business owners, we’re told to show up, stay visible, and build our personal brand.

And on social media? It can feel like everyone else is always on: always networking, always glowing, always travelling, always achieving.

Perfect homes. Perfect outfits. Perfect nails.
Even rest has to look productive and aesthetic.

But here’s the truth I’m holding onto lately:
Not everything needs to be loud to be meaningful.

Sometimes, we need to go quiet to make space for what really matters.
I’ve been a little quieter here - not because I’ve disappeared, but because I’ve been working on something really special (my book is getting so close!!)...

And also giving myself the gift of slowing down and reconnecting with what matters most.

This is your gentle reminder that stepping back is still moving forward.
And you’re allowed to do the same.

Coming soon to toy stores near you... not really. But imagine!

Introducing the Valentina action figure:

Wearing the classic jeans + white tee combo

Armed with a Canon camera (obviously)

Comes with accessories like a laptop, lit candle (for vibes), white orchid (because aesthetics matter), AND my real-life Labrador sidekick

Mood: somewhere between “let’s create magic” and “I need chocolate.”

Honestly, this was such a fun little thing to try and kinda hilarious to see myself as a 3D mini-me! 🙈

But behind the toy box, there’s a real woman who’s spent years telling stories through photos. Helping mums feel beautiful. Cheering on women rediscovering their confidence.

Freezing the messy, emotional, magical in-between moments that make life what it is.

And while I don’t come in packaging (thank goodness, can you imagine the plastic hair??), I do show up with camera in hand and music in the background, ready to turn your moments into something timeless.

So tell me… if YOU were an action figure, what would your accessories be?

Mine better come with a never-ending SD card.

PS. My daughter said the figurine looks like an Oompa Loompa.
I might have laughed a little too hard… mostly because she’s not wrong.
