Oh Wow! Certainly, I didn’t expect that!

My SWPP Gold Award

A Gold Award from the SWPP, the Societies of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, is a big achievement, and I’m genuinely thrilled about it. The SWPP is one of the world’s largest and most important organisations for photographers.

This is a monthly competition, and as a member, I can submit one image per category, for me, always newborn or maternity. The competition is judged by some of the most esteemed Fellow, Master and Grand Master photographers in the UK and across the world. A gold image also qualifies for Photographer of the Year in that category. That would be a dream.

Here’s the winning photo, a newborn session in Battersea with such a cute baby boy, the very same boy whose mum I’d photographed while she was waiting for him a few weeks before.

Another newborn I loved photographing from just down the road was baby Clovis from Clapham Junction, who came to the studio with his whole family, grandparents included.
