Home newborn photography in Clapham is perfect if you’d rather stay in the comfort of your own home for your baby’s first photos.
I know after birth, mums need time to regain their energy and catch up on sleep. Maybe you don’t feel like going out again so soon, there are plenty of reasons to choose a home newborn session. What’s special about it, I think, is that it’s something unique to you: you’ll look back at the photos and see your own family in your own home. Even if you move at some point, the photos will bring back memories tied to that place.
What to expect from a home session
A home session works around you, not the other way round. A few things that make it different from a studio visit:
– No travel with a days-old baby, I come to you.
– We use the light already in your home, so the photos look and feel like your actual life, not a set.
– Older siblings and pets can join in naturally, in the rooms they already know.

Just look at these two. Baby Josh, 13 days old, and his big brother Zack, 18 months.

Newborns are best photographed between in the first 2 weeks, so if you are expecting and you are planning to have some photos done, try to book the session while still pregnant. We can have the time to meet for tea and plan your session. Get in touch to arrange a free consultation.
If you’re ever tempted to try a few photos of your own in between, I put together some simple tips in this article How to take Beautiful DIY Newborn Photos at home. Tips from your London Photographer, a nice way to catch extra moments, though nothing quite replaces a proper session.
