Beautiful Pregnancy Shoot – London Maternity Photographer

Pregnancy, while filled with emotions and discomfort, is one of the most amazing miracles a woman can ever experience.

I met Tosin when she was around 20 weeks pregnant with her first baby. We had a cuppa together and a chat about pregnancy and newborn photography. She was very excited and looking forward to the shoot. The best time for maternity photography is between 30 and 35 weeks, which in her case was January.

Tosin really liked the idea of an outdoor session and we started brainstorming for nice locations in London. At the same time, she wanted to show off her bump as well! And that’s not quite ideal in January in London.

She eventually decided to have a nice and intimate maternity session with her husband at my studio, in Wandsworth Town and I think it turned out really well.

This is what she said after her session:

“Having your photos taken when you are pregnant is essential because it gives that beautiful memory that you will cherish forever and appreciate your body as it’s able to carry a whole human being for 9 months.”

I really love the simple look in the backlit photos. These are some of my favourites.

One made me proud as it was awarded by the National Photographic Society. And of course made mum very proud too.

Not my first time at the House of Lords… I know, I know. You’re probably thinking “Her again?!” 😅

But I promise, it never gets old.

Today was all about creativity (of course—hello, we’re talking about Adobe!), and how refreshing it is to chat with other small businesses in the creative world.

Huge thanks to the fab @adobeexpress team and @britainsmallbiz for putting together such a great course and for filling the room with so many lovely, inspiring people.

(And yes… I still take photos every single time I go!🙈)

What’s your favourite ‘pinch me’ work moment so far?
    It’s hot.

It’s Friday.

And I’m spending the day not relaxing in the sun, but sweating over who’s going to print my book because Amazon KDP just isn’t cutting it.

I didn’t think this part would be so hard…

Finding someone to literally hold your story? Turns out, it’s an emotional commitment.

If you’re also spending your Friday in a plot twist you didn’t ask for, know you’re not alone.

We’ll get there. Maybe slightly late. Maybe slightly sweaty. But we will. 💪

Before they were in your arms,
they were already in your heart.

That invisible bond, the quiet connection that grows long before you meet deserves to be remembered too.

This is what I love most about maternity photography: not just capturing how it looked,
but how it felt to carry love in your body 🤍

If this speaks to you, save it or send it to someone still waiting to meet their little one.

Nobody talks about this part of the creative process.

The part where writing a book turns into:
→ cleaning your desktop
→ questioning all your life choices
→ remembering your password for Canva (yes, again)
→ deciding to rewrite everything, which somehow turns into version 10.5.

I thought I had a plan. I set a deadline in my mind.

And now… I have a slightly-delayed book and a newfound respect for anyone who’s ever published anything ever. 😅

But you know what? I’m still showing up.

Because this project means everything to me.
Because these stories deserve to be told, even if it takes a little longer.

If you’re in your own messy middle right now… keep going.

We’ll get there. Maybe not on time. But with heart.

“Colour is descriptive. Black and white is interpretive.” — Elliott Erwitt

Sometimes, the quietest images speak the loudest.

Stripped back. Soft. Honest.

Why do we close our eyes when we cry, when we kiss, when we dream?

Because the most beautiful things in life aren’t always visible.
They’re felt. Held. Remembered by the heart.

But sometimes, a photograph can bring them back, not just the image, but the feeling.
Of who you were in that moment.
What you were carrying.
What you were becoming.

That’s what I love most about this work.
Not just capturing how you looked, but how it felt to be her.

If you’re ready to remember your moment, not just see it, I’ll be here.

When you’re ready to feel, I’ll be here.
