December is a month often associated with festive celebrations, cosy nights by the fire, and the spirit of giving. But have you ever wondered about the unique traits of babies born in December? If you’re expecting a little one this month, or if you’re lucky enough to have a December-born child, you’re in for a treat! December babies possess some truly special qualities that make them stand out.

Let’s explore some fascinating facts about December babies and what makes them so remarkable.

1. Born Under the Sign of the Archer or the Goat

December babies fall under two zodiac signs: Sagittarius and Capricorn. Sagittarius babies, born between December 1st and 21st, are known for their adventurous spirit, enthusiasm, and independence. They are naturally curious and love to explore new ideas, making them great thinkers from an early age. On the other hand, Capricorn babies, born from December 22nd onwards, are known for their discipline, ambition, and practicality. They often display a strong work ethic and a maturity beyond their years. Whether they are Sagittarians with their boundless energy or Capricorns with their grounded determination, December babies have a blend of qualities that make them uniquely special.

2. Optimistic and Generous Spirits

Despite being born during the colder months of the year, December babies often have a warm and generous spirit. Many studies have shown that babies born in the winter months are often more empathetic and giving. December-born individuals are known for their positive outlook on life and their ability to spread joy wherever they go. They tend to see the world through a lens of opportunity, and their generosity and kindness are some of their most admirable qualities.

3. December Babies Are Hard Workers

Born at the tail end of the year, December babies have a natural inclination towards hard work and responsibility. Whether they’re Sagittarians or Capricorns, they tend to excel in everything they do with determination and a strong sense of commitment. Capricorns, in particular, are known for their focus on long-term goals and their ability to persevere through challenges. They understand the value of hard work from an early age and apply that discipline to both their studies and personal lives. These traits make December babies not only resilient but also incredibly reliable as they grow.

4. Birthstones and Birth Flowers: Embracing December’s Symbolism

December is a month rich in symbolism, with its birth flowers and birthstones capturing the essence of the season and the qualities that make December babies so special.

For flowers, December is blessed with two primary blooms: the Narcissus and Holly. The Narcissus flower is a symbol of self-esteem, respect, and faithfulness, making it a perfect representation of the strength and character of those born in this month. It’s also connected with renewal and fresh beginnings, reminding us of the promise and possibilities that each new life brings. On the other hand, Holly is often seen as a symbol of protection, goodwill, and domestic happiness. With its deep association to Christmas and winter celebrations, Holly reflects the warmth and togetherness that define this time of year. Together, these flowers embody resilience and celebration as we bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new.

As for birthstones, December has the unique honour of having three stones that each carry their own special meaning. Turquoise is the first, known for its protective and healing properties. It brings peace and tranquility to those who wear it, while also promoting emotional balance and enhancing communication. Zircon, with its bright and clear appearance, represents wisdom, honour, and wealth. It’s believed to foster clarity of thought and bolster self-confidence, making it the perfect stone for making wise, informed decisions. Lastly, Tanzanite is a gemstone that stands for transformation and spiritual growth. Known for its deep blue-purple hue, Tanzanite is associated with higher consciousness and spiritual awakening, making it ideal for those seeking emotional healing and personal evolution.

Together, these birthstones and flowers tell a beautiful story of protection, renewal, and personal growth, much like the December babies themselves.

5. Strong Family Bonds

December babies tend to form very close bonds with their families, often because they are born during a time when family is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. The holiday season brings families together, and these babies are often born into a season of love, celebration, and togetherness. This can have a profound effect on their early development, as they tend to feel secure in their relationships and are more likely to be emotionally attuned to those around them. They are often seen as the “glue” in the family, bringing everyone closer together with their warmth and charm.

6. The Gift of Health: Strong Immune Systems

Research has suggested that babies born in December tend to have stronger immune systems. This is believed to be due to the seasonal conditions that provide them with optimal early-life exposure to the necessary vitamins and nutrients that support immune development. The cooler weather can also mean fewer seasonal illnesses, giving December babies an edge in terms of overall health and vitality. As they grow, they’re likely to be strong, healthy, and less susceptible to common colds and flu.

7. December Babies Are Naturally Creative

Creativity often flows through December babies, with many of them showing a keen interest in art, music, and storytelling from a young age. Their imagination is fuelled by the winter months, and their creativity can be seen in many forms, whether it’s through art, music, or even their ability to invent and solve problems. This creative spark often follows them into adulthood, where they use their innovative thinking to bring new ideas into the world.

8. Timeless Holiday Birthdays

While it may feel like a challenge to have a birthday so close to Christmas and New Year’s, December babies have the unique advantage of growing up with a special connection to the holiday season. Their birthdays are often celebrated with a festive flair, filled with the warmth of family gatherings and seasonal cheer. For many December-born individuals, this means a lifetime of cherished holiday memories, making their birthdays even more magical.

It’s so easy to slip into comparison, especially online.

But comparison steals the joy from your own journey.

Check in on others with kindness,
and check in on yourself with the same softness.

Wishing you a slow, nurturing weekend. 🤍
You deserve to be in that memory!

Your kids don’t care about your hair, your arms, or the outfit you think isn’t flattering.

They care that you were there.

One day, long after that outfit is gone and the kids are grown... the photo of you hugging them will mean more than you can imagine.

So no, you’re not getting out of the frame.

And trust me, you’ll be glad you didn’t.
Some moments only happen once.

The quiet before baby arrives, the way you hold your bump without thinking, the way your partner holds you.

You don’t get this chapter back, but you can keep a piece of it, in your heart and on your walls.

Maternity photos aren’t about perfection, they’re about remembering how this season felt, the anticipation, the softness, the start of everything.

If you’re expecting and already feeling how quickly time is moving, I’d love to help you hold onto this part of your story. 🤍

I’m taking maternity bookings for 2026, and I have a some availability left for this year too.

We often think of kindness as something we give to others, but it also lives quietly in the spaces between us, in patience, in listening, in how we see one another.

Every time I photograph someone, I’m reminded how powerful kindness can be.

A gentle word, a reassuring smile, or simply making someone feel seen can change the whole energy of a moment.

This World Kindness Day, let’s remember that kindness doesn’t have to be loud or grand. Sometimes it’s in the way we speak to ourselves. Sometimes it’s in the way we see another person, really see them.

Be gentle, with yourself and with others. It matters more than you know.

In a world where so much feels filtered, polished, or even AI-generated, I just want to be real.

▪️I still get nervous before shoots, even after hundreds of sessions. Every client is different, and that matters to me.

▪️I might do a small dance (or throw my arms in the air) when you book a session, because it means you’ve chosen me to tell your story.

▪️I can feel really low when bookings slow down, and yes, I get anxious when the inbox is quiet.

▪️Most days, I edit in joggers, wrapped in a blanket, with chocolate or biscuits within reach.

▪️If you don’t reply after a session, I do worry. We’ve shared such a special connection, and when I don’t hear back, my brain instantly assumes something’s wrong.

▪️I pour everything into every session so you can have the best experience possible. I feel exhausted afterwards but I know you leave feeling amazing.

▪️And yes, I’ll admit, it stings a little when you share your photos without tagging me. Because every image has a piece of my heart in it.

Photography is emotional, messy, and sometimes exhausting but it’s also so magic and rewarding.

What’s your truth? I know I’m not the only one who feels like this. Can any fellow mums or business owners relate?

You won’t find props or baskets here, just softness, light, and connection.

I believe your baby is already enough, exactly as they are.

Every sigh, stretch, and tiny breath tells the story of who they’re becoming and who you already are.

If that’s the kind of session you’ve been searching for, let’s chat.

We’re definitely speaking the same language.
