September Baby Fun Facts

Are you expecting a baby this September?

September is the month with the highest birth rate (I wonder if that could be related to the fact it’s around nine months after the festive season!) so it’s my busiest time of the year! You can see all the cute babies’ photos in my newborn gallery.

I thought it was a great time to pull together some September baby fun facts.

Feel free to share them with any mums who are due this September.

September Birthstone

The birthstone for September is the sapphire, which symbolises purity and wisdom.  Sapphires are also thought to ease pain and reduce stress – perhaps you should take one into the delivery room with you!

September Star Sign

Your baby will either be a Virgo (August 24 – September) or a Libra (September 23 – October 23). My daughter is Libra and I see in her some of the typical traits of this sign like being clever and diplomatic.

September Birthflower

The birth flowers for September are the Aster and the Morning Glory.  Asters are symbols of love and Morning Glories are symbols of affection. Such a beautiful meaning.

September Baby Fun Facts

Studies suggest that September babies excel at school – could this be related to the fact they’re the oldest in their school year.

September babies also excel in sports – again this could be related to the fact they’re the oldest, and therefore the strongest, in their school year.

September babies are statistically more likely to live to be 100 than babies born in other months!

Celebrities with September birthdays include Beyonce, Will Smith, Keanu Reeves and Prince Harry.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and I want to say this gently: you don’t have to have it all together to be worthy of care, love, or rest.

Motherhood, creativity, business. They all carry invisible weights sometimes.
It’s okay to set them down for a moment.
It’s okay to just be.

There’s real courage in that stillness.

PS. If this resonates, you might find comfort in my book Milk Tales. A collection of stories about the emotional side of motherhood, and the courage it takes to be honest about how we really feel.
If you need a soft space today, it’s waiting for you on Amazon.
Being brave doesn’t always mean being loud.

Sometimes, it means walking into a space where you’ll be truly seen,
even if your confidence is shaky,
even if your jeans don’t fit,
even if you almost cancelled.

That’s the kind of bravery I witness every day in my studio.

Women choosing to show up, not because they feel ready, but because they know it matters.

If that’s you too…

I’d be honoured to hold that space for you.

Empowering sessions for women, mothers, and those coming home to themselves.

Some clients book me once.
Others come back again: when baby is in their belly, and again when they’re in their arms.
Some return for baby milestones or second babies.

That’s the trust I never take for granted.

“Valentina is a credit to her work and what she does and also what she caters towards. I booked both the maternity & newborn photography with Valentina and the end result was amazing. She is so relaxed and professional. She is amazing with newborn babies and so gentle. I cannot recommend Vale enough.” - Chloe

From bump to baby, these are more than photo sessions.

They’re soft pauses in time.

Moments of connection, calm, and care.

This one holds truths and stories.

Milk Tales is a quiet companion for those loud, confusing and chaotic moments of early motherhood.
It’s for the ones who tried, struggled, doubted, cried, expresed, felt judged.

Each page carries a piece of someone’s truth.
And maybe… a piece of yours too.

Flip through the stories.
You might just feel seen.
